This has been a great course and one that I feel has given me a lot of useful skills/knowledge. Dr. Hughes has a great approach to teaching this course and is always friendly and helpful.
Dr. Hughes was always more than willing to be helpful and provide feedback. He was well prepared and insanely organized which helped with when I was stuck.
I have never felt comfortable speaking in front of people until this class. Dr. Hughes made this classroom a very judgment free, safe space.
Dr. Hughes was often looking for feedback from students to improve their experience. He is intelligent and kind.
Overall I appreciate the structure of the course and I felt the instruction was always clear and effective. Professor Hughes did a great job letting students build relationships in class. Overall loved this class.
Dr. Hughes is kind and a great instructor. He often provided relevant examples and gave plenty of opportunities for feedback. A gem in the communication department.

Really interesting and fun! Really enjoy this class and Mr. Hughes does all he can to make this class fun and exciting!
I really like that Mr. Hughes always communicates his office hour times and encourages us to come in and speak with him if we ever need help. I find that this boosts my confidence in the course and helps me understand lessons better.
Mr. Hughes was always available to help all of the students whenever he could; he made this very clear as well. I quite like how he actively engages his students and makes the learning environment very comfortable. I also really enjoyed seeing his face for the first time, after he had worn his mask the majority of the semester. I could not help but smile when I saw the enthusiasm and passion that he has for teaching after seeing his expressions. It just goes to show one how important facial expressions and emotions are to learning, engaging, and interacting within a given scenario.
Dr. Hughes does a fantastic job at communicating and reiterating what the expectations are and making sure everyone understands their homework, providing reminders. He is also quick at responding and open to individual meetings.
Dr. Hughes always seemed like he cared about how we were doing in our day-to-day lives. He also seemed to want us to understand the topics and to work in groups to help understand presentations. I can easily say that Dr. Hughes has been one of my favorite professors so far at Chadron.

Adam is an amazing teacher. I have never had a teacher so clear about due dates, expectations, and class meetings. One of the best teachers I have ever had.
Really cared about his students and made the class relatable, even if it was not for their major.
Overall, he was a good teacher. He was extremely passionate about the course and was always there to answer questions.
Very knowledgeable on the subject and really helped me gain the confidence I needed for public speaking!
Awesome teacher! Interactive and concerned with well being of the students and their grades. Very organized and engaging in class. Teaches material well in a fun and interesting way! One of my favorite professors this year!

My TA, Adam Hughes, was terrific in presenting the information that necessary to learn the material along with being successful in the class as a whole.
Mr. Hughes was very clear in his instructions and fair in his grading. By the mutual respect he fostered, I had more of a desire to put effort into the class and improve as a public speaker.
Mr. Hughes kept us interested and always listened to ideas. Excellent professor. He also always made sure we knew what was coming up and I felt well prepared.
One of the best teachers I have had here at Virginia Tech. Even more impressive because it is an online class.
He made us practice what we were being taught (actually speaking publicly). He gave us good feedback. He was honest but not hurtful. Mr. Hughes was a great TA.
